6 miles as running guide for Achilles International. I guided  a blind runner along the big Central Park loop. The marathon finish line area was closed off for preparations. Grand stands are up. Then ran home.

Indoor track workout at Chelsea Piers. 5x800m at 10K pace (~7:10) with 400m recovery jogs. This was way easier than last week's 8x400m at 5K pace. Wonder if I should do more 5K pace or more 10K pace for optimal training.

Ran the local turkey trot at my parents house with both Mom and Dad.

Splits:

1 - 6:39

2 - 6:53

3 - 5:29 (short course - pace was 7:02)

I thought I was in much better shape than overall average pace of 6:51. Not much faster than the 5K I ran over the summer. I ran at a pretty good effort, probably could have run a litte bit faster... I think my 10K and HM paces have improved, but I haven't focused on fast running at all. I have been pretty much running easy full time, but in the last month, I've added one track work out a week of longer intervals. Am going to switch over to shorter/faster intervals to imporve my fast paces.

Even though I was disappointed in my time, I really enjoyed the race. After I finished, I ran my dad in. He finished in 27:30, and then I ran my mom in. She finished in 35. Great day!

Easy run w my Dad. Really loved that we can run together. My dad has worked really hard to loose weight this year and has improved his running so much!

Long run on Hudson River. 50 and a little windy. Too cold for just a t shirt, so I froze. Motivation to run faster than normal easy pace. 8:00 av pace.

Taking a page out of Jake's recent entry about keeping shape by easy run mileage and 200m track workouts once a week. I did a track workout at Chelsea Piers 10x200m at mile pace (6:00 pace). Was going for 44 seconds. This was a tough workout. Legs were tired, but lungs could have gone for more reps!
