After almost 4 years, it's finally raining in San Diego - measurable precipitation! Lots of coastal areas are flooded, so I ran on the treadmill. Easy miles with 8 x 200 m at HMP (~6:50). Left hamstring continues to feel weaker/unstable/tightness when I run at the faster paces. I think it is a matter of conditioning, since I tweaked my stride a little bit since the last time I ran these paces.

Easy miles on Ocean Beach bike path. Headed that way to see the San Diego River after 2 inches of rain and +7 high tides. It was nice to see water instead of dry dirt!

Easy miles after work on tm. Hamstring bothering me a little bit even at very slow pace. Not painful, just can feel it. It's a different spot than where it was torn. I wish this hamstring issue would go away for good!!

a.m. - 7.5 miles in Morley Field and Florida Canyon with Elizabeth and Simon. People were out setting up for the high school xc finals this Saturday. It's supposed to rain a lot on Friday and maybe some on Saturday morning. It's going to be muddy!

Long run from home to Morley Field and back. Ran up to see the Foot Locker High School Cross Country Nationals. Saw most of the boys race - all ran under 17:00. Very impressive! 1st place won by what seemeed like an eternity. 2-5 was very close.

Sore from Saturday's long run. Hamstrings were sore - but felt okay about that because both right and left were sore. Hit the gym for uphill treadmill walking (35") and core/upper body weights.

Long run along Sweetwarter River Trail in Chula Vista and Bonita. Fantanstic place to run in San Diego. It's almost all horse trail, so it's wide and soft. Two street crossings in 11 miles. Can't believe this was my first time here! I'll be back.

a.m. - Easy miles in Catalina. Big storm last night beached three large boats, shredded a few against the rocks, and sunk some others. Two storm-related deaths. The harbor master was crushed trying to save a boat very early this morning. A man was who lived on his boat was thrown off the boat and drowned. Saw the aftermath.

p.m. - hike with Tom and Karen on the first three miles of the Trans Catalina Island trail (out and back and big climb).
